Some notes from 8m2 stereo regarding his track -
Funnily enough, my track 'unc' was wrongly transferred / encoded from the original 48khz DAT (perfectly labelled with data rate + track length) to the 44.1khz CD master by the studio crew operating at that time... (yes, I did very much like the sound they produced + mastered 'in house' at that time, esp. miasma). When I recieved my proof copy of the manufactured CD I listened to the track 2 or 3 times, having a strange feeling about my own music, never experienced before (with 'finished' tracks)... finally I cross checked with my master DAT - only then did I realise that the CD presented my contribution in a different key, speed and length than concieved by me... also I had asked not to crossfade at beginning + end of track...
Nevertheless I liked the series a lot + was happy to be with the label, + given almost all the backcatalog + following releases to enjoy...
One day I met David Toop (playing a show alongside with Scanner, Th. Köner, Atomheart et al., which I was lucky to soundengineer..) + introduced myself as a labelmate... he instantly replied, 'oh - you know - they don´t pay.' :) ▪
