I too regret the loss of the Great Library of Egypt, but I thought its location (Alexandria) as well as its fate (it was burnt down) were known historical facts? I wasn't aware it was "lost" and yet to be discovered. ▪
I find this piece of music extremely religious, in the sense that it gets you to question who we all are and what we are doing here. The background human chanting is similar to ones you would encounter in religious ceremonies. However, my favorite way to listen to this song is to close my eyes, think of the Egyptian kingdom BC, and wonder where the Great Library (the existance of which Herodotus the historian wrote about) is now in modern Egypt. It lies buries in the sand somewhere, and makes me question with this music what we really know about life and the origin of civilization. Enjoy, it is magnificent piece of music by Mr. Frankland, again... ▪
