I have finally found the source of the second voice sample! It's from: English with an Accent: (BBC Records #166, 1974) Produced by Peter Hunt. Distributed by Polydor. I've poste this, and other Woob/Journeman samples on my pet project website. ▪

just a few notes on samples for those curious.
the melody played on the plucked-string instrument is from the beginning of Camille Saint-Saëns' "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso" (yes, i am aware that the source is reputedly a film by Parajanov...).
then, the very obscure and long spoken sample (about 15:59 - 17:57) seems to be almost all of the paragraph text on this page (cached).
this appears to be from some kind of demonstration of english accents (?) and the page suggests that there is an audio tape of the text. this is a (danish?) man describing his war experience in malta.
in case the URL doesn't work, below is some of the text and where it is in "on earth."
15:49 - and between them was many old ex-service colonels, and I will call... the big nobs, and they decided to go back for the war, or well... they were supposed to.... I say, 'I will go with you.' That's the way I come here, and I joined Merchant Navy. They don't really know what to do with me, so they sent me up to Newcastle. [...]
16:51 - And I was lucky to survive from... January '40 till somebody hurt me in '44. And they flew me back to England. When I come to England they put me in Moorfield Hospital because I lost... lost half of my eyesights. And I always... also had broken legs and... lots of other sorts of things, all forgotten now.... And I got my eyesight back, except I have to use these dark glasses. But I see enough. I don't want to see more than what I see today. That's... I'm quite happy with what I see today. And... then I joined the Navy, and when I come out this April they sent me to... Eire. [...] ▪

I came across "On Earth" a few years ago and found it to be absolutely awesome! It builds up, it grows on you and it takes your imagination anywhere that it wants to go! Be alone or with your partner, lights out, close your eyes, turn it up, DO NOT TALK over it, take the phone off the hook, tv off, in fact all you need to do is breathe!! It is, to my mind, a very erotic piece of music that will only make sense if you have an imagination, its a journey of your mind and you may just find yourself in places you only dreamt of or hadnt even thought of before! Of course.... you can take this as far as you want, but above all else... LISTEN to it and dont just hear it! In short, this piece of music should not be allowed to end..............ever!!!! njoy ▪

Wonderful album ▪
Around minute 5 or so comes a sample from the sci-fi TV series Quantum Leap. The episode is the one where we get to see "the future".
... I advise extreme caution in attempting apprehension. Good luck, Al.
- Uh thanks, uh, I think I'll need a little luck. ▪

There appears to be much sampled on this piece from the soundtrack to Sergei Paradjanov's film Ashik Kerib, a videocassette of which I rented after several enthusiastic recommendations on this list. For those interested in Georgian film or in woob sources, it will reward those who seek it. ▪
