well.......today afternoon i adquired this good cd for a little price and i think some sounds remind me a portishead voice, is a really nice cd with a inteligent sequence i recommended to THE SEX MOMENTS bye!;0( ▪
Got this review from the inside cover link for this album but it seemed misplaced. Here it is again for those who haven't read it yet..... If so much electronic music seems gripped by a heads-down millenial angst: male, mute and devoid of human expression then slim could turn heads on raise eyebrows with her unique and bittersweet twists on notions of the song. In an age where word of mouth is apparently presumed either redundant or untidy, em:t resume their volley of audio exotica with an album of cinematic narratives and stories you can hum. Spanning intimate torch songs and tales of abduction to skewed groove manoeuvres and deep, languid dub, the opening what it is catches the unwary with restless, slanted syncopation and a personal quest to define a well-worn four-letter word. To follow, the pelvic funk and sci-fi soundbites of abducted, before the evocative longeur and slow scenic dub of water, an existential side-view of life in the city (and thirts of all kind). ) exotica with an album of cinematic narratives and stories you can hum. Spanning intimate torch songs and tales of abduction to skewed groove manoeuvres and deep, languid dub, the opening what it is catches the unwary with restless, slanted syncopation and a personal quest to define a well-worn four-letter word. To follow, the pelvic funk and sci-fi soundbites of abducted, before the evocative longeur and slow scenic dub of water, an existential side-view of life in the city (and thirts of all kind). triple threads takes the paraphernalia of the New York dancefloor and playfully overlays the interview musings of Barbara Tucker amidst waterwheels, banjos and a bam-dance sensibility. A velveteen backing and brushed snare punctuation frame the erotic torch-song extension of your chair, giving way to the deep amazonian chug and back-projected peril of my dangerous life, before the album closes with the lone aching voice and solitary loop of idyll. ▪
