international peoples gang
| Real Name | Martyn Watson and Ric Peet plus assorted musical/spiritual contributors |
Biography
The name comes from a track called Panic In Detroit by David Bowie on Aladdin Sane. He sings "... the only survivors of the National Peoples Gang". Martyn Watson figured that the gang should be international.
The concept of IPG is that it is a club that one is born into and to apply to leave rather than join. Collective consciousness and all that.

Probably just a blip... if you list it again, people will probably bid. It's being bid on at the moment, in fact, so there's still interest. ▪
I listed this (International Peoples Gang EM:T3395) on eBay and nobody bid. Why do you think that is? ▪
Hi guys, I received IPG3395 the other day after winning it on e-bay.
This release is wicked! International Peoples Gang get 2 thumbs up from me. The voice samples remind me of woob4495. ...aaaah! shiver (me timbers).
I've also managed to win 1196 & 2296. I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself! ▪

em:t.cc interviewed Martyn Watson of IPG in February 2003. A unique document that talks about the past and future of IPG, don't miss it. ▪
Amazing. I just finished listening to the record...it's very good. It's one of those bands that makes us just "shut up" and listen to the music...very groovie and relaxing... ▪
A wonderful band. Happy and haunting at the same time. Like dropping in on someone dreaming of skipping merrily through a ghetto; whistling as they pick up trash or humming as they plant flowers in a cement garden. ▪
